I. The important role of tire pressure sensors
As the core component of the automobile safety system, tire pressure sensors are directly related to driving safety, fuel efficiency and tire life. According to statistics, about 23% of traffic accidents worldwide are related to abnormal tire pressure. When the tire pressure is 20% lower than the standard value, the tire wear rate is accelerated by 35% and the fuel consumption increases by 5%-10%; while excessive tire pressure will lead to reduced grip and increase the risk of tire blowout. Tire pressure sensors can detect hidden dangers in advance through real-time monitoring and early warning push. For example, when driving at high speed, the sensor can trigger an alarm at the moment when the tire temperature rises abnormally, giving the driver time for emergency processing. Since January 1, 2020, all types of new cars in my country must be equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), and countries such as Europe and the United States have also implemented mandatory measures for tire pressure monitoring systems at different times.
II. Technical competition of mainstream communication solutions
The current communication solutions for tire pressure sensors are common, such as SUB-1G and Bluetooth. SUB-1G uses wireless communication technology below 1GHz (such as 433MHz or 315MHz) to collect tire pressure, temperature, acceleration and other data in real time through sensors, and transmits them to the receiver through a radio frequency (RF) module. The Bluetooth tire pressure solution is based on Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology. The sensor transmits tire pressure, temperature and other data directly to the mobile phone APP or the car Bluetooth device without a dedicated receiver.
Ⅲ. What are the advantages of the Bluetooth solution?
At present, SUB-1G and Bluetooth solutions are both widely used solutions on the market. The Bluetooth solution for tire pressure sensors may become the mainstream of the industry, and its advantages are significant: Security: Bluetooth supports AES encryption, data transmission is more secure, and data is prevented from being intercepted or tampered with. Convenient upgrade: Bluetooth TPMS supports two-way communication and can realize OTA (over-the-air upgrade). The system can be updated remotely to improve the flexibility and safety of the system, while SUB-1G is usually one-way communication and requires professional equipment to upgrade. The car system of Tesla Model 3 can even automatically adjust the suspension hardness according to tire pressure data. Reduce costs: Traditional SUB-1G solution sensors require corresponding receivers, which can be integrated with the digital key system to share a receiver, greatly reducing costs. Power consumption: Bluetooth TPMS has lower power consumption, thus increasing the overall service life of the equipment.
Ⅳ. Shengrun Technology focuses on Bluetooth tire pressure solutions
Shengrun Technology's tire pressure monitoring system has passed the automotive AEC-Q100 certification. The solution has attracted the attention of major car companies and is currently being introduced into the solutions of various car companies. Shengrun Technology's tire pressure sensing solution can adopt different working modes in scenarios such as not installed, driving, short-term parking, long-term parking, and failure, while ensuring safety and reducing power consumption. In addition, Shengrun Technology's tire pressure sensor is calibrated for temperatures of -40~125℃ and different angles to ensure that the product maintains accuracy in different environments.
